Mike Sanders, FACHE, Founder and Managing Partner 1100 Partners
Mike served as the President and CEO at Monroe Clinic from 2001 through 2019. During that time, Monroe Clinic received many awards for excellence, including multiple Top 100 awards, patient experience recognition, and CMS Five Star status. Prior to joining Monroe Clinic, Mike served for fifteen years in various senior leadership positions at ThedaCare in Appleton, WI, including three years as Chief Operating Officer of ThedaCare Physician Services. Prior to that, he worked for a national health care consulting firm and in community health planning. He has served on a number of professional boards of directors, including the Wisconsin Hospital Association, the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative, and Metastar, as well as previously chairing the federal Office of Rural Health Policy’s Rural Health Issues Group. He is also active in a number of service and economic development organizations throughout southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
Mike has an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, a Master of Health Services Administration degree from the University of Michigan School of Public Health, and a BA in Mathematics from Michigan State University. Mike is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and received the ACHE-Wisconsin Regent’s Award in 2019.
Cindy Werkheiser, Founder and Managing Partner Manager 1100 Partners
Cindy served as Vice President of Service Excellence and Process Improvement for Monroe Clinic for ten years. Her strategic responsibilities included organizational integration of service excellence, process improvement, and leadership development through Lean methodology. Cindy was also responsible for the clinic’s retail delivery outlets; marketing; facilities; registration & scheduling; hospital admissions; guest services; and primary care. Cindy held administrative oversight for a thirty-nine million dollar clinic expansion project, while also leading the effort to operationalize new concepts in ambulatory care delivery, including self rooming.
Before her career in healthcare, Cindy served 23 years as a bank professional holding several senior leadership positions.
Cindy received an Associate of Arts degree from Highland Community College and a Graduate School of Banking Degree from University of Wisconsin – Madison. She has received numerous leadership and customer service awards during her tenure in banking, including two nominations for Women of Excellence in her community. She has been a member of several community boards and committees, and is a current board member of Highland Community College Foundation.
Carrie Blum, Founder and Managing Partner, 1100 Partners
Carrie worked at Monroe Clinic for over 20 years. She served as the Vice President and CIO at Monroe Clinic from 2013 through 2020. Her primary areas of responsibility included EPIC electronic health record, information systems, biomedical engineering, laboratory and imaging services. Under Carrie's leadership the Epic & IT teams had high engagement scores and low turnover rates. During her time at Monroe Clinic, Carrie led the implementation of the electronic health record, Epic, throughout the hospital and clinic. She was the executive lead for the Epic Community Connect program, rolling out Epic to community hospitals. Carrie facilitated process improvement efforts throughout her time at Monroe Clinic including working with and facilitating teams to create a new patient experience in the new medical office building. Prior to joining Monroe Clinic, Carrie worked at First National Bank in Human Resources in Monroe and also owned and operated a restaurant and banquet hall for 13 years. Carrie has been a member of WI Epic User Group (Board member for 8 years), HIPAA Collaborative of WI (Member), College Health of Healthcare Information Management Executives (Member).
Carrie has a Bachelor of Business from Columbia College, and an Associate Degree in Human Services. She enjoys volunteering as a board member of Men’s Resource Center and is active in volunteering at several local organizations.
Ryan Camron, Associate Consultant, 1100 Partners
Ryan is a valued associate consultant and member of 1100 Partners, providing excellent customer service and knowledge throughout all of information technology. He creates partnerships with clients to identify needs, create action plans and implement solutions. Ryan is motivated by facilitating process improvements and working with the operational needs of an organization which drives the IT strategy.
Ryan has 20 years of experience in Information Technology. He started his career in the hospitality industry and moved to healthcare for the majority of his career. Ryan has extensive IT leadership experience which includes project management, cyber & HIPAA security, networking (voice & data), customer service & satisfaction, hardware & software support, service desk, budgeting, operations and IT contract management. Ryan led the infrastructure team for Epic and the infrastructure implementation for Epic community connect affiliates. He has successfully implemented service level standards for IT teams and lean process improvements in collaboration with other department leaders, eliminating waste and optimizing technology.
Ryan received his Bachelors of Science Management degree from Columbia College. Ryan is currently active with the Illinois Leadership Institute as a Board Member and Green County Broadband Committee as a committee member. He is a member of HIPAA COW (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act Collaborative of Wisconsin) and GIPAW (Governmental Information Process Association of Wisconsin).
Dr. Gina Byran, Associate Consultant, 1100 Partners
Dr. Bryan is a clinical professor and the director of the post-graduate psychiatry program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Nursing. She teaches in the graduate nursing and pharmacy programs. Dr. Bryan maintains an active clinical practice at Tellurian Inc. in Madison, WI. She has twenty years of experience in community psychiatry in both Dane and Rock Counties. She has served on many state and national work groups and committees to develop healthcare policy for psychiatry and addiction services. Dr. Bryan’s scholarly interests are currently focused on novel health care provider collaborations to improve access to medication assisted treatment for the treatment of substance use disorders. Dr. Bryan earned her B.S.N, M.S. and D.N.P. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Dr. Sarah Endicott, Associate Consultant, 1100 Partners
Dr. Endicott is a nurse practitioner board-certified in geriatrics and psychiatric mental health nursing with 15 years clinical experience caring for older adults across care settings, including specialty acute care, hospice, memory diagnostic clinics, primary care, long-term care and psychiatry. The common thread of her diverse experience is enhancing systems, environments, and the workforce to meet the unique needs of older adults. Some of her key projects include development of a comprehensive multidisciplinary memory clinic, age-friendly environmental design, simulation design to teach principles of geriatric care, and the development of a nationally distributed curriculum for paid and non-paid caregivers of people living with dementia. The other focus of her scholarship is graduate clinical preceptor development. Dr. Endicott is a Clinical Professor with the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has an active clinical practice with Independent Psychiatric Consultants in Waukesha, WI. In 2020, she was named a Distinguished Educator in Gerontological Nursing by the National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence. Dr. Endicott earned her B.A. and D.N.P from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and M.S.N. from Marquette University.
Sally Podoski, Associate Consultant, 1100 Partners
Sally is a strategic partner of 1100 Partners, with special expertise in quality management, accreditation, and patient experience. Sally's leadership experience includes inpatient medicine, numerous outpatient services, and physician practice management. For the past 15 years, Sally has led Quality department initiatives and survey readiness teams in both rural and urban systems. Sally enjoys being a resource working with teams to build strong foundations, identify opportunities for improvement, and prepare for accreditation processes. Sally began her career as a Medical Technologist and holds a Master's Degree in Organizational Management.
